The Steps is for students on the NUS campus to use as they please: hold seminars, discussions and forums, display work and provide resources outside of academics…

Our approach was to create an intervention in which there are no rigid boundaries.
Exterior and interior, built environment and nature, the programmed spaces; all start to merge.
The building is a series of shifting horizontal planes.
The programmed spaces (discussion area, seminar area…) are differentiated by their varied elevations.
Activities flow from one space to another.
